Jennifer Wolfe

Los Angeles-based writer and PR professional specializing in Media & Entertainment

About Me

Hi there. I’m Jennifer Wolfe, a veteran writer and PR & marketing professional dedicated to the business and artistry of the global animation and visual effects industry. Spanning more than two decades, my career in Media & Entertainment began in 1997 at the American Film Institute, where I served as liaison to the prestigious AFI Board of Trustees. I got my start in public relations on the red carpets of Hollywood, working with companies like entertainment marketing behemoth IMG. In 2004, I signed on with Raz PR, specializing in media relations and marketing for creative companies and technology developers in advertising, design, production, post production, animation and visual effects ranging from Autodesk to Vicon. Since then, working with industry giants such as Ascent Media (now Deluxe Entertainment Services), I have developed broad-scope knowledge of M&E businesses, including visual storytelling technology, creative post-production, and digital content creation and distribution.

I transitioned into journalism in 2011, writing numerous articles covering the latest developments in cameras, lighting and other related gear for Digital Video magazine and American Cinematographer. In 2012, I was hired to Animation World Network — the online home of ANIMATIONWorld and VFXWorld magazines — where I cultivated a bird’s-eye view of the constantly shifting M&E landscape, including the latest blockbusters, buyouts and box office returns. I was named editor-in-chief in 2017, responsible for driving the strategic direction of the company, and overseeing AWN’s publication schedule, editorial content, and a growing editorial team. Working today as a freelance writer, I continue to write about animation and visual effects for publications including industry mainstay Animation Magazine and celebrated Hollywood trade outlet Variety.

If you’re reading this, chances are you could use some help with something. Or maybe we just met and you’d like to learn a little more about me. Either way, I’d love to hear from you — drop me a note, and let’s chat.
