Comprising many of the most vibrant and exciting international filmmakers working in independent animation today, the GLAS Animation Festival has grown in size and stature since it first launched in 2015, bringing together a community of industry veterans, filmmakers, students and animation enthusiasts from all around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The four-day event is bigger than ever this year, with more than 20&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.glasanimation.com\/2019\/03\/06\/programs-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Special Programs<\/a>&nbsp;including retrospective screenings of animators like&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dennistupicoff.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dennis Tupicoff<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/user29876242\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jim Trainor<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nfb.ca\/directors\/michele-cournoyer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Michele Cournoyer<\/a>, and talks given by a broad range artists such as Shanghai-based digital artist&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/kimlaughton.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kim Laughton<\/a>,&nbsp;<em>This Magnificent Cake!<\/em>&nbsp;director&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marcandemma.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marc James Roels<\/a>, and&nbsp;<em>Summer Camp Island<\/em>&nbsp;creator&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.juliapott.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Julia Pott<\/a>, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"GLAS Animation Festival 2019 Signal Film\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/311181403?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay;
