Homage to Visual Music: SIGGRAPH Asia Best in Show Winner \u2018L\u2019oiseau Qui Danse\u2019<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Independent VFX artist and director&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jm-marbach.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jean-Marie Marbach<\/a>&nbsp;received the Best in Show award at the 2018 SIGGRAPH Asia Conference for his gorgeous abstract music video, \u201cL\u2019oiseau qui danse,\u201d for Canadian electronic artists&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/tennysonmusic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tennyson<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Featuring the journey of an origami bird inside a mysterious field of light, the video was created as an homage to the abstract animation style of&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.centerforvisualmusic.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Visual Music<\/a>, taking on an aesthetic inspired by the work of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/42624760\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Walter Ruttman<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/55181698\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oskar Fischiner<\/a>&nbsp;but using modern tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was made entirely using Adobe After Effects and Red Giant\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.redgiant.com\/blog\/2017\/08\/01\/trapcode-suite-14\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trapcode Suite<\/a>, the popular plugins for motion graphics and custom AE scripting. Except for the origami bird, which was created in After Effects from 2D layers rigged together in 3D space, all the elements were created using Trapcode Suite\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.redgiant.com\/products\/trapcode-particular\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Particular<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.redgiant.com\/products\/trapcode-form\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Form<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.redgiant.com\/products\/trapcode-mir\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mir<\/a>&nbsp;particle generators. Automated functions related to particles behavior were achieved with custom expressions and scripts written by&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.motionscript.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dan Ebberts<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div
