2015 VFX Bake-off: 10 Spectacular Hopefuls Vie for Nominations

This past Saturday night, the visual effects branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences held its 2015 “VFX Bake-off,” the annual event where members view presentations of the top 10 visual effects-driven films of the past year prior to voting for the final five nominees. A long but fun night, the nearly four-hour event, held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, CA, featured five-minute presentations followed by 10-minute screenings of selected finished shots from each of the shortlisted contenders announced back in December. (Read full story…)
