Animation Pipeline for Oscar-Nominated KPop Demon Hunters

Academy Award nominations for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for “Golden” have capped an extraordinary year for KPop Demon Hunters. Produced by Sony Pictures Animation, the film represents a convergence of performance-driven animation, large-scale musical storytelling and studio-wide experimentation.

Debuting on Netflix in June, KPop Demon Hunters rapidly became the platform’s most-watched film ever, driven by its kinetic performances, stylized action and music-forward storytelling. Critical and industry recognition followed. In addition to its Oscar nods, the film went on to win Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song at both the Golden Globe Awards and Critics Choice Awards.
